Everyone shared comments on the meetings and most were positive. Comments were:
Char wondered why some people are not coming back
Bob thought the interactions were good.
Florence said that there must be a directed place that people go through (referring to registration).
Alex--ditto on the above.
Heleen liked the panels and the non-traditional PA delivery.
Linda J. brought up the missing linkage with injury prevention.
James Horan said he wanted the Parks Dept. to be adopted by DOH (as they did such a good job). Will work on getting Rex Derr to April 21st.
Liz was shocked by the # of new people that were here. Criticism for second year in the row about non-motorized transportation.
Why were more of the developing coalitions not here? (Liz).
Bob wondered if anyone else had talked to anyone from schools. Three Mukilteo school members are doing some interesting new kinds of things in the schools.
Liz mentioned that she really wanted to attend some of the other meetings.
List of participants was not provided to all by the organizer.
Tom congratulated Heleen (and her committee) for all the good work they did. Wanted to make sure the group knew how much work Heleen had done.
Discussed the work of the finance group. Linda was filing with the Secretary of State
with the Bike Alliance’s address. Discussed who was coming in as officers
for the form (see below).
Discussed getting the opinions in re. The website. Heleen announced the new
list serve should be up shortly. Discussion was about whether to do PAPROMO
list serve. Consensus was yes on the Leadership Team also having
a list serve.
Char asked if the new attendees would be interested in serving on the Leadership
Team. Char explained the process to Florence Sheehan who wondered what the demands
were. Florence shared how she became interested in PA activism by talking to
groups on being more active going in to retirement. She talked about her interest
with the physician-perspective.
The website was discussed and consensus was that it should be the clearinghouse
about the related links and groups for where to go related to PA topics.
Send out new member packets for the people signed up for this year. It was suggested
that this be done in conjunction with the leadership team development also.
Discussion about the elections of officers included that Liz will serve a one
more year and then one year as Past–president. Jane will do VP for one
year. Gwen will do one more year as Secretary. Alex Stone, Ann Schwartz, David
Levinger, Heleen Dewey, Bob Weathers would be the members-at-large. Will sort
out years of service at the next meeting when all are in attendance. Voted on
and passed unanimously.
Next meeting at SPU on June 8 followed by Aug 3 also at SPU.
Adjourned at 5:10.
Respectfully submitted: Tom Wells, Executive Director
