ED Report

o        Decision made by BOD to not be recipients of poker tournament money. Jane will provide promoter with some contacts and potential recipients: American Heart Association, Austin Foundation, etc.

o        Jane is applying for a grant from Union Pacific. She will ask for funding to expand 5186 materials, adapt for different size cities, and get a presentation ready to take on the road. It would also be adapted for citizens, not just planners and city/county government folks.  The goal is to mobilize our resources to create local/grassroots citizens to demand 5186 changes.  Don suggested an increased focus on seniors and universal design.

o        Dave B. suggested

o        Involving AARP in reviewing content for appropriateness

o        Include in toolkit a document from urban land institute on designing active communities

o        Use state pa practitioners to keep up to date with what other states are doing

o        Jane will check with Bob Melson about a liaison to our group from WAPHERD

James will ask Anne Fritzel if she will adapt for citizens. Don volunteered to link Bainbridge Is. Non-motorized person with Anne Fritzel.
